What Is An Extraocular Implant?
They say that man's best friend is the dog. But what about the women? That’s Easy… If you are the typical woman, then JEWELRY I a woman’s bestest (with emphasis) friend!--correct me if I'm wrong ladies.
Why, what woman does not like hanging ornaments on her body? From necklaces, rings to earrings (ears, navel, tongue, lips, eyebrows, etc) and the more they can pile on the merrier they feel. In fact it is more common (at least for me) to see women with perforations than men. Then, we all love the jewelry and found a place where they fit in: No, not the desk or dresser, in the eyes!
So, for the world of implants that idea is not impossible. And we’re not just talking here of colored contact lenses--that went out of fashion a long time ago and is now treated as something part of everyday life. Now there is something more ambitious and only the chosen few knows about this mod the extraocular implant .
This involves placing a small (very small) decorative piece of metal between the surface and conjunctiva of the eye, so that your eyes have a very personal touch and originality.
But Oho! This procedure must be performed by a licensed ophthalmologist under proper sterile conditions and ophthalmic anesthesia only. These two things are needed, and it can only be availed in the Netherlands. Why? As that is the only place where it is now legal. This form of body modification, also known as eyeball jewelry, started there for since 2002.
Then, because this is a recent technique there is only one source of the jewelry design: the company Hippocratech. The good news? They say it does not hurt (since both eyes are anesthetized) and it's very fast to install.
So, if someone around here liked the idea and also would like to have an extraocular implant, you need only 750 euros (the cost of the implant) and the cost of transport to the Netherlands. I already started my savings ;)
